Northeast Ohio's Breathtaking Waterfalls: A Complete Guide

Brandywine Falls

Address: 8176 Brandywine Road, Sagamore Hills, Ohio 44067

Brandywine Falls is located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and is just a short hike from the trailhead. To get to the lower viewing deck, you will walk down approximately 80 steps. This is a quick 5 minute walk from the parking lot. The boardwalk offers a secondary accessible view of the falls from above too.

Blue Hen Falls

Address:  6947 Riverview Road Peninsula, OH 44264

Blue Hen Falls is also located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Park at the Boston Mill Visitor Center on Riverview Road. This is a 3 mile round trip hike with elevation change of 580 feet and will take around 1-2 hours to complete. Cross the road at the corner of Riverview Road and Boston Mills Road to get to the start of the trail. Take Buckeye trail all the way until you see a maintenance yard at the top. Cross Boston Mills Road at the cross walk and follow the trail down to the waterfall!

Buttermilk Falls

Address:  6947 Riverview Road Peninsula, OH 44264

Buttermilk Falls is not technically located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Boston Mill Ski Resort owns the property that the waterfalls sits on. To get to the falls you are going to take the above hike first to Blue Hen Falls. From there, go past the "Blue Hen Falls End of Trail" sign and you will see a path worn down by hikers. Follow the path about 1/2 a mile (you will cross the river a few times) until you see two large remnants of an old bridge. Right past that is the top of Buttermilk Falls. Make the short hike down to the bottom of the falls to get the best view. It is BEAUTIFUL!
